The Charm of Gold, a series of six gold coins, tells the stories of the value and charm of gold in ancient civilisations. The coins feature the word gold in the script of each culture, alongside artistic images and treasures of civilisations.
No other metal has as much symbolic meaning as gold. The five-piece 100 euro Magic of Gold series traces that meaning through different ancient cultures. The first of those cultures is Mesopotamia, ‘the land between two rivers’, the Tigris and the Euphrates, where some of the most important developments in early human history occurred.
The crown of the Holy Roman Empire was among the most coveted in Europe. Today, it is kept in the Imperial Treasury of the Hofburg Palace in Vienna. The 100-euro gold coin is itself also a treasure and, as the first coin in the five-part series "Crowns of the Habsburgs," is particularly sought-after.
The collection contains the following coins: -2013: The Red Deer -2014: The Wild Boar -2015: The Capercaillie -2016: The Fox -2017: The Alpine Ibex -2018: The Mallard
