The sacramental entry into the life of faith is the chain of transmission of the faith which has continued uninterrupted from generation to generation since the time of Jesus when, before ascending to heaven, he said: "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit."
